I was asked to participate in a furniture challenge and I headed to CORT Clearance Center where I shop around their store and pick out a project to remodel. I headed to their Salt Lake City store and was blown away at all of the unique discount furniture. Here’s a peek:
I was on the hunt for a high-quality, wooden piece and my problem was I found many items I wanted to remodel! I was debating between a tall cabinet to store fabric inside of for my craft room and the other piece in the bottom left corner for my entry way – I love how that mirror is attached. I was also impressed with the colorful accessories like the yellow vase and candle holders sprinkled throughout the store! After shopping around, I found the WINNER… …two of these end tables/nightstands. Apparently when you buy more than one item or a set you get an extra discount so I was stoked about that (both end tables for $99)! Oh, and everything is CORT Certified so I have 90 days to bring them back if I find anything defective with them. I’ve been looking for some end tables for my sectional downstairs in our family room and these will be perfect! I took them home and started prepping and painting! I used Valspar Cabinet Enamel paint in the white color Du Juor. The enamel is in the paint so you don’t need a sealant or anything. I decided to keep the top of the end tables wooden – so I taped them off with painters tape before hand. Next onto new hardware…
I found these rope handles at Hobby Lobby and had to have them! I also found a couple of knobs on clearance for only $1.38. I know right? Such a great deal! I installed the hardware and love how they look against the white! Here’s the other one: They really brighten up our basement area and now we have lots of storage space inside of the drawers!
Make sure to stop by your local clearance center to find some treasures to purchase (and remodel) for your home. You might be surprised what you find!
