The Greatest Showman is played on repeat in our house and we cannot get enough of it. My daughter wants to have The Greatest Showman birthday party and as I scoured the internet for some of the cutest ideas, I thought I’d share what I found in case your little one wants a circus party, too!

St. Patricks Day Craft – Rainbow to Go

As a former elementary teacher and art history major, my passion for parties, paper, personalized, pretty came from being a stay at home mommy to four little ones under ten.

We have a lot of parties at our house! Party styling was a perfect combination of my former life. My blog is filled with holiday ideas, party planning tips and ways to make each day a bit more personal.

I have been a fan of Ucreate for a long time, but I “met” Kari when she pinned my Blow Me A Kiss Bubble Gum Tubes to her Pinterest board. Views on my site increased by the thousands (Thanks Kari!). You could definitely say that I was over the rainbow. So as a tribute to that meeting, I wanted to share with you…

A Rainbow To Go.

Rainbows are a very popular party theme right now but they are also perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. I usually avoid decorating for this holiday because, quite frankly, I’m not a fan of green. Who doesn’t love a rainbow, though?

You will need: assorted 1 inch gumballs, Rolos, gumball tubes (chocolate cover pretzel bags work also), ribbon, a circle or scalloped circle punch, and Rainbow To Go tags which you can download here.

Place your “pot of gold “ or Rolo at the bottom of the tube with the small side down. Then, top with gumballs.

Place ribbon over the opening and then put on the cap.

Punch out your tags.

Attach your tag, tie a bow and you’re done! An adorable party favor or hostess gift in minutes.

DIY Halloween Treat Bags

Halloween is my most favorite holiday! Kari and I have a fun Halloween costume party for our extended family and we get to make fun things for that event. This year instead of buying the decorative bags for the kids treats, I made them with brown paper bags and a simple printable. They are so cute and creepy all at the same time…that’s the best kind of Halloween craft!

Supply List:

Download “Happy Halloween” printable
Brown Paper Bags
Ribbon
Hole punch
Printer (We love Canon PIXMA iP8720)

Step #1: Download the Happy Halloween monster printable and print on the paper bags.

You will notice the printable file is upside down. I did that so I could feed the paper bags into the printer bottom first because it’s thicker and would be pulled through better.

Step #2: Fill the bag and punch two holes in the top.

Step #3: String the ribbon through the holes so that the ends both meet in the front.

Step #4: Tie a knot and trim the ends of the ribbon.

What a super simple and darling little bag, huh? This is going to be perfect for the little ones at the Halloween party.

The Homemade Play Dough Guide

So I’ve never met a kid on this planet who doesn’t like to play with play dough. Now I have met an adult (my sister in law actually) who cannot stand the smell of the store bought play dough, so much so that it makes her sick. She’ll love this because she can actually make it smell like whatever her heart desires!

THE BASE

Use this basic recipe:

1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Directions:

Mix above ingredients into a pan over medium heat until ball forms.
Remove from pan and knead if for a couple of minutes on wax paper.

TIPS AND TRICKS

I put 1-2 tablespoons of oil because depending on what ingredients you add to your mixture you might need a little more or less oil. Just add until you get desired consistency.

Make sure any ingredient you try is non-toxic. We want to keep our kiddos safe!

Here are some versions you might want to give a try:

Glow in the Dark Play dough
Glitter Play Dough
Holiday Play Dough (like gingerbread, pumpkin, candy cane, etc.)
experiment and have fun with all different kinds!

FUN PLAY DOUGH IDEAS

Make some and take to a local daycare or church group.

Add some to a babysitting kit.

Use as birthday party favors and store a little bit in a plastic container or bag with a simple bow!

Give as a gift to a child with some cookie cutters, plastic molds, etc.

Endless possibilities!

Do You Want to Build a Snowman

The movie “Frozen” is always a topic of conversation in our home and we love the song “Do you want to build a snowman?”. I was trying to think of a fun kids craft about building snowmen with marshmallows and came up with this idea!

My kids made these last night and loved it so much I decided to make a printable and give them out as gifts and use them at our Christmas party this year as the kids craft station.

Supplies for each snowman kit:

3 Jumbo Marshmallows
5 pretzel sticks
5 Chocolate Chips
1 Candy Corn
1 sandwich or snag baggie
1 tiny clear baggie
1 spoon of white frosting
Do You Want to Build a Snowman Printable

Directions:

Print out free printable bag topper.
Place marshmallows, pretzels, chocolate chips, candy corn into snack baggie.
Put 1 spoonful of frosting into the tiny baggie and place in the snack baggie with other supplies.
Staple Bag topper onto snack baggie!

You have an instant craft kit for the kids! These make fun little gifts, too!
