Our adorable cousin Ashlee is having a baby girl and of course, Becky and I jumped at the chance to throw her a baby shower!

The theme? Ready to POP!

Ready to "POP" baby shower with tons of ideas and free printables

We popped a huge bucket full of stove top, plain popcorn, printed out, and framed this sign so the guests would know exactly what to do…

The bags we used were just the inexpensive brown lunch bags.

Next, we stocked up on many different popcorn seasonings that you can find in the popcorn section of your grocery store. If you really want to get fancy, there are some online popcorn seasonings you can purchase with many different flavors, too (just Google and you’ll see what I mean)!

The little glass shakers were purchased in a pack of 2 for a dollar at Wal-Mart. I like how the holes are large so the seasoning easily comes out.

This was such a hit with all of the guests and it was fun to watch them come up with many different recipes! Some even broke into dance shakin’ their bags!!

We couldn’t forget the mini M&M’s, chocolate, and peanuts!!

For the drink we bought six packs of bottled crème soda, printed out the bottle wraps, and stuck the straws to the side.

I have to share something hilarious really quick.

When you put the paper straws into the cream soda it fizzes like crazy! The deeper you push the straw the more fizz and some were overflowing. Didn’t realize we’d come up with a fun science project and lots of laughs at the baby shower!!

Thanks for "popping by" baby shower party favor!

As the guests were leaving the shower, they each received these “thanks for popping by” party favors filled with my Snickers Popcorn Recipe and a picture of Ashlee and Topher – it’s always fun to take a treat home. You can purchase the popcorn boxes at a local or online party shop.

This shower was a big success and Ashlee received many fun baby gifts to start her new journey in life next month!

Oh, and we cannot wait to see this little princess and spoil her so much!

Baby Burp Cloth Cupcakes Tutorial
Have you ever been to a baby shower where someone comes up with a super clever gift idea… and you think to yourself.. “man, I wish I would have thought of that!!” I know I have done that… more than once!
Today, I am giving you an idea for the next shower you attend.. or throw!

Nothing is cuter than some colorful cupcakes! But these aren’t the edible kind… they are actually made using 3 of my chenille burp cloths!! Yep… how fun is that!?!? Not only is it cute, but it’s a totally awesome gift too!
Want to give away some of these cuties at the next baby shower you go to!?!? Here’s how to do it!
Take the burp cloth and fold it in half length-wise {like a hot dog bun}.
Then fold it in half again. This gets tricky because it doesn’t like to stay folded.
Then start at one end of your rectangle and carefully roll it up. {This would be easier to take a picture of if I had a third arm!}
Since it has a tendency to unroll itself, just make sure you hold on tight. You might have to straighten out the non-rolled part of the rectangle as you roll to make sure that your layers are all lined up.
Then grab a regular sized rubber band and use it to hold your roll together!
Repeat for all of your burp cloths.
Now comes the fun part. The embellishing! This is where you can be as creative or as simple as your want. Here’s what I did.
Take a piece of 12″x12″ scrapbook paper and cut a 2″ strip for each cupcake.
Take one of your strips and wrap it around the base of your roll.
Be sure to pull the paper fairly snug. Otherwise it won’t stay put once you are done.
Trim the excess paper leaving about a 1/2″ overlap.
I just use a piece of scotch tape to tape the band in place. It’s really easy to do one-handed {since you will be using your other hand to hold the band in place}. I try and line up the tape pretty close to where the end of the burp cloth roll is — figuring that is the “back” of my cupcake roll.
Here are all three with their completed bands.
All that’s left is for you to get creative and decorate those cute little cupcakes! I tied a simple white organza ribbon around each one and placed them in a jumbo cupcake liner. Then I used my baby cupcake topper printable to add a little something extra!
These would make a great centerpiece for your tables if you are throwing the baby shower. Make a couple, and place them on a cake stand on a sign in table. Or visit your local bakery supply store, purchase a jumbo sized cupcake box and wrap them up in the box!
If you are interested in the printable I used, you can find it here on my Etsy shop. It is only $1. You will receive a PDF file with pink, blue, orange, and green toppers {just in case!}. Use it again and again, and AGAIN!
HUGE thank you to Katy for sharing one of the cutest baby gifts ever!

As promised, here are the results of the Baby Shower by Mail!  Prepare to be blown away.

Baby Shower by Mail Onesie RevealedYou guy, I am blown away by all this creativity!  Not one of these onesies is the same or even close to the same.  Check out all these beautiful onesies.

Little Princess Tutu Onesie u-createcrafts.com

Jessi died her onesie brown using RIT Dye. GENIUS!  Then she ironed on some rhinestones to create the “Little Princess”.  I am totally in love with the little tutu she made to finish off such a cute outfit!

Diva in Training ucreateparties@gmail.com

Patti got some iron-ons from the baby section at the craft store and sewed them on with a zigzag stitch in two colors of thread.  She put one on the butt and one on the chest.  I especially love the zigzag detail on the neck and the sleeves.  ADORABLE!

 Ruffle Fabric Onesie u-createcrafts.com

Roxane took some of her ruffled fabric and created a little wrap skirt!  She secured it to the onesie with a fabric sash.  Seriously beautiful! Barbie-Onesie-ucreateparties.com_thu

Penny used Silhouette Heat Transfer to create this super cute screen print onesie!  This is absolutely perfect for a little princess with 3 older brothers, right?

Rosette-Oneise-ucreateparties.com_th Kellee created some darling rosettes from the fabric in her kit and stitched them on the onesie.  I LOVE the little skirt she included.

Butterfly-Onesie-ucreateparties.com_

Ranae made these blanket stitched fabric butterflies.  She secured them to the onesie by sewing down the middle of the butterfly so the wings are loose.  SO CUTE!

Flannel Dress Onesie u-createcrafts.com

I took some flannel and hemmed the edges.  Then I sewed it right under the armpits and added an adorable crochet flower from Riley Blake Designs.  Simple, yet totally cute!
Sewn Buttons Onesie u-createcrafts.com

My grandma made an adorably simple onesie with buttons and ribbon.  What a cute and easy idea!  I love that such a little detail can add so much to a plain white onesie.

My favorite part of this Baby Shower by Mail was seeing how everyone decorated their onesies.  We all have different talents and abilities, but this fun onesie project showed that EVERYONE can create something beautiful!

Speaking of beautiful, here is the reason we did fun little baby shower:

Like many of you I have family all over the nation, but I still want them to be included in our fun family crafting nights and bridal & baby showers.  I hate that they don’t get to participate in these fun events.  Then the BABY SHOWER by MAIL idea hit me…

Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-252520on-252520ucreateparties.com_thumb-25255B10-25255D

This is the PERFECT way to host a baby shower and include EVERYONE!

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-252520Supplies_thumb-25255B2-25255DSupplies:

  • Plain white onesies ranging in size
  • 5×7 Manila Envelopes (half need to be Self Addressed)
  • Yards of fabric or other embellishments
  • Wilton Cookie Favor Bags
  • Ribbon
  • Instructions {I created mine in Picmonkey, but feel free to use it}
  • Inspiration Card
  • Address Labels

 Instructions:

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-2525202_thumb-25255B2-25255D

I opened all the onesie packages and cut my fabric into 1/4” strips.

DIY Baby Shower by Mail 1

I needed to create a cute package that would fit in a 5×7 envelope, so I rolled each onesie in two strips of fabric and taped the roll together.

Inspiration Card & Instructions:

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-2525205_thumb-25255B2-25255D1.  I found some adorable handmade onesies online and created a collage in PicMonkey.  Here are some of the cute onesies I used to create my inspiration card:

I saved the photos and imported them into PicMonkey to create the collage.  Then I saved the collage and printed them on white cardstock.

2.  Create an instruction card {or use mine} to include in your favor bag.  I also typed a letter to all my family explaining exactly why I was doing this and gave everyone a time frame and encouragement.

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-2525206_thumb-25255B2-25255D3.  Create some labels in Word and adhere them to some 5×7 envelopes.  Fold the envelopes in 3’s and include them in your Onesie Kit.  {I find that if I make things as easy as possible for people I get a better response rate.}

 Assemble the Onesie Kits:

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-2525208_thumb-25255B2-25255DPlace your Onesie Roll, instuction card, inspiration card and self addressed envelope in a Favor Bag and tie the top with a pretty bow!

DIY-252520Baby-252520Shower-252520by-252520Mail-2525207_thumb-25255B2-25255DPlace the adorable kits you just made in 5×7 envelopes with your letter {if you typed one} and send them to the lucky recipients.

I know you want to see all the finished onesies, right?  Well, you won’t have to wait long.
